The snow is drifting down on the coast in Västerbotten.

The plow trucks don't have time to pull over in all places, which causes traffic jams.

The ambulance in Umeå managed well during the night, but got stuck during an emergency call on Monday morning.

- We had to get help from the emergency services and their tracked vehicle, says Lars-Åke Löfqvist, manager of the ambulance in Umeå.

The main roads are well plowed, it is worse in residential areas and out in villages.

- It could be that the person who usually scoots is the one who is sick.

The call: Give us snow info

The emergency services would like to have information about the snow situation already in the alarm call.

- If it is 500 meters to pulsate in deep snow, we can bring the emergency services immediately.

We can get help carrying patients, or use their scooters and trolley if needed.

All such information is worth its weight in gold to us, says Löfqvist and continues:

- It will be a different approach for us in this weather situation.

We are used to being able to drive through the door, we cannot count on that now.

It is better that we get out of there with the patient than that we get stuck.

The emergency services in Nordmaling and Umeå say that they have coped well with the snowfall so far.

- People take it to heart and are careful, but if help is needed, we are ready, says Lars Mårdvall, operations leader at the Rescue Service in Umeå.
