UN: Taliban's restrictions on women herald a "new period of crisis"

The United Nations mission announced that Afghanistan is entering a new period of crisis, after the decisions of the “Taliban” government to prevent women from university education and work with relief agencies, and the mission said that the ban will harm all Afghans.

Many aid agencies, including the United Nations, have suspended their aid programs in protest of the Taliban's recent decisions, and the chief UN envoy, Marcus Potzel, met with Afghan Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Nadeem and called on him to lift the ban.
