The reporter learned from the National Court Work Conference held yesterday (6th) that from January 1, 2013 to November 30, 2022, courts across the country punished various crimes according to law, concluded 11.272 million first-instance criminal cases and sentenced 13.673 million criminals people.

To maintain a high-pressure situation on crimes that seriously endanger social security, the number of serious violent crimes in my country has generally shown a downward trend in the past 10 years and has remained at a low level.

　　In the past ten years, courts across the country have severely punished serious violent crimes, crimes endangering public safety, crimes such as theft, robbery, pornography, gambling, and drugs, and crimes such as violence, abuse, trafficking, and sexual assault against women and children. Criminals are sentenced and executed according to law.

Courts concluded 117 million first-instance civil and commercial cases

According to the law, 239 criminal wrongful cases involving property rights were screened and corrected, including the Zhang Wenzhong case, and 307 persons were involved, and the judicial protection system for property rights was improved.

311,000 cases of dereliction of duty and 341,000 cases

　　The courts punished corruption crimes in accordance with the law, and concluded 311,000 cases of corruption, bribery, and dereliction of duty with 341,000 people.

The commutation, parole, and temporary execution of sentences outside the prison for criminals who have committed crimes at or above the county division level will be subject to filing and review, and all of them will be publicized online, leaving no room for black-box operations.

Improve the procedures for the confiscation of illegal gains in cases of criminal suspects, defendants' escape, and death cases, promote the recognition and enforcement of confiscation rulings by Chinese courts abroad, and track down corrupt elements and their illegal gains to the end.
