A Jetstar Japan domestic airliner, which took off from Narita Airport in Japan on the morning of the 7th and headed for Fukuoka, Kyushu, made an emergency landing due to the threat of bombing.

Flight GK 501 of low-cost airline Jetstar Japan flew west from Narita Airport and made an emergency landing at Chubu Airport near Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture at around 7:40 am today.

The Chiba Prefectural Police said that at around 6:20 am today, a Narita Airport information center employee received a call saying that "GK Flight 501 has been placed with explosives."

The unidentified person is said to have made an international phone call from Germany and said in English, "There is a 100kg plastic bomb in the cargo hold of the plane. Let the manager go or I will blow it up."

The police examined the luggage in the cargo compartment with X-rays, but confirmed that there were no explosives or other suspicious items.

The aircraft had 136 passengers and 6 crew members.

Five passengers suffered minor injuries, including abrasions, while escaping from the plane.

Due to an emergency landing, the runway at Chubu Airport was closed for over 4 hours, and operations resumed around 12:15 pm.

As a result, a series of flight cancellations or delayed departures caused inconvenience to passengers.

The straight-line distance from Narita Airport to Fukuoka Airport is about 950 km, and Chubu Airport is about 350 km from Narita Airport.
