Originally from Haiti, Juliette was adopted when she was two years old.

During his childhood in France, the subject was taboo in his adoptive family, and conflicting relationships.

"I went back to see my biological family at the age of 22 and it made me realize that adoption does not define who I am," says Juliette.

She was contacted by her biological brothers, who found her through social networks.

They maintain the link from a distance and finally, twenty years after her adoption, the young woman goes to meet them in Haiti, accompanied by her adoptive family.

Michaela, she found her biological family after years of diligent research.

The 26-year-old German went through the details of her adoption file and appealed to specialized organizations to find traces of her parents and siblings. 

A tough path

These young Europeans both found answers thanks to this meeting, but the path to get there was difficult.

In 2021, 252 children were adopted abroad by French nationals or foreigners residing in France, compared to 244 in 2020.
