For Nasser Bourrita, the accusations against Morocco are the result of "

repeated media attacks in European institutions and in particular in Parliament

".

According to the head of Moroccan diplomacy, these "

media attacks emanate, we think, from people, structures, backgrounds, disturbed by this Morocco which is developing

".

Since the revelations of the Belgian and Italian press in mid-December, this is the first time that a Moroccan official has mentioned, without citing it, the

alleged corruption affair in the European Parliament

This is of great concern to Josep Borrell.

The vice-president of the European Commission affirmed that there would be “

zero tolerance

” towards corruption and that investigations were underway in which the EU expects the full cooperation of all the actors involved.

“

There can be no impunity for corruption, zero tolerance for it.

We must await the outcome of the ongoing investigations, and we expect everyone's full cooperation in this investigation

 , ”says Josep Borrell.

Strengthened fight against terrorism

Anyway, the discussions between the two men seem to have been rich.

The interview lasted more than two hours when only one hour of interview was announced.

The investigation into these allegations of corruption was also discussed earlier in the morning by Josep Borrell and the head of the Moroccan government.

However, security cooperation is not weakening between the two partners.

The two representatives announced that they would strengthen their collaboration in the fight against terrorism.
