A 28-year-old man was sentenced to nine months in prison by the Versailles Criminal Court (Yvelines) on Monday.
He was found guilty of assaulting his partner at the end of December at the family home located in Plaisir, reports

The facts took place around 11 a.m.
The defendant woke up and asked his partner to cook him an omelette.
But the victim, tired, refused.
He then began to insult and threaten her.
Then the situation escalated.
The young man hit his girlfriend with a vacuum cleaner hose.
Hit in the forehead, the latter was seriously injured.
Alerted, the police immediately went to the scene to help him.
When she arrived, the young woman was bleeding profusely.
Witnesses to the scene, the couple's two children aged 3 and 6 were in tears.
During his trial, the defendant stated that he did not intend to "damage" or "kill" his companion and that he had used the vacuum cleaner to intimidate her.
In addition to his prison sentence, the young man is prohibited from contacting the victim after his release from detention.
