A spokesman for the Austrian Ministry of Defense said that a soldier was killed and another wounded after an exchange of fire in the barracks of an air base in the Austrian town of Wiener Neustadt, today, Friday.
"The guard was killed and another soldier was wounded in an exchange of fire shortly before 7pm today at the air barracks in Wiener Neustadt," ministry spokesman Michael Bauer wrote on Twitter.
The Austrian Press Agency reported that the soldier on guard duty opened fire, apparently during an argument, and that the higher-ranking soldier shot him.
