While the government is due to present its pension reform next Tuesday, the four formations LFI, EELV, PS and PCF, promise in a joint press release "the organization of Nupes meetings everywhere in France, starting with a first meeting on Tuesday 17 next January at 7:00 p.m. in Paris", to oppose this reform which they consider "unfair and inefficient".

Recalling that according to them there is "no economic necessity" for this government reform, the Nupes partners also propose "a meeting at the inter-union to discuss the reform project and to consider possible joint initiatives" , and say they will support "any mobilization date she decides".

These decisions follow a meeting Thursday of officials from each member of the Nupes to determine how to start the battle for pensions.

Finally, the partners of Nupes call on their respective political formations "to meet at the level of the municipalities, departments and constituencies and to participate in the local collectives which will be put in place with all the forces which wish it", by putting available to them a joint leaflet from the Nupes deciphering the government's bill".

"Contrary to what the government asserts, there is no threat of an insurmountable deficit in our pension system", insist the four political parties, which consider that "contrary to any decline in our social rights , solidarity and the climate condition our social system and the habitability of the earth in the medium term".

Another meeting, organized by two committed media, Reporterre and Fakir, will take place on Tuesday 10 in Paris, in the presence of the rebellious deputy François Ruffin (editor-in-chief of Fakir), the new head of EELV Marine Tondelier, the boss communists Fabien Roussel, the leader of the socialist deputies Boris Vallaud, and the president of the group of Insoumis deputies Mathilde Panot.

"The left is united against the pension reform," said PS First Secretary Olivier Faure in the JDD on Wednesday, assuring that "we can roll back the government as it has already backed down on unemployment insurance".
