According to RIA Novosti, this decision was made by the majority of deputies of the National Assembly of Venezuela, elected in 2015.

“We deeply regret the impact this decision may have on our Venezuelan fellow citizens in the United States,” the mission said in a statement.

Earlier, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced his readiness to normalize diplomatic relations with the United States.
