In addition, Lee Jae-myung, the representative of the Democratic Party, will appear at the prosecution on the 10th and be investigated in relation to the so-called 'Suspicion of Seongnam FC donation'.

Ahn Ho-young, chief spokesman of the Democratic Party, said at a briefing at the National Assembly today (6th), "The schedule for Lee to attend the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office at 10:30 am on the 10th was agreed."

Chief Spokesman Ahn explained, "The prosecution and the defense team coordinated the date of the appearance, and it was judged that the date was appropriate."

When asked if he would attend in public, he said, "CEO Lee said that he would proudly attend and state his position," he said.

Previously, the prosecution notified Lee of the summons on December 28 last year in connection with this case, but Lee refused to attend, saying that he had a schedule set in advance.

However, CEO Lee expressed his intention to respond to the investigation, saying, "I will decide the possible date and investigation method through consultation with a lawyer."

The Seongnam FC donation suspicion case is that while CEO Lee was the owner of Seongnam FC during his tenure as mayor of Seongnam, he attracted 16 billion won in donations from companies such as Naver and Doosan E&C from 2016 to 2018, and these companies were accused of convenience such as building permits and land use changes. This is what you received.

In 2018, CEO Lee was accused of this suspicion by the Bareun Mirae Party and others.

It is the first time that CEO Lee has responded to a summons investigation by the prosecution since taking office.

Earlier, in August, the prosecution notified Lee of the summons for allegedly publishing false facts during the presidential election process, but at the time, Lee refused to attend and only submitted a written answer.
