The Stellantis automotive group will manufacture the flying taxi developed by the American firm Archer

The flying taxi of the firm Archer will be manufactured by the automotive group Stellantis.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the major electronics show CES in Las Vegas.

This is a new twist for Stellantis, as this flying taxi is nothing like a car.

It is an airplane with twelve small propellers on the wings.

The machine called "Midnight" is fully electric, designed to carry four passengers in addition to the pilot.

It can make trips of around 30 kilometers with a 10-minute recharge time between each run.

A concentrate of technology developed by the American firm Archer, which is associated with Stellantis for manufacturing.

who was in Las Vegas to present this flying taxi at CES.

Stellantis is therefore venturing beyond car manufacturing and contributing up to $150 million to the project.

The production of these taxis will take place in the American factory of Archer, it should begin in 2024. The objective is to assemble 650 devices per year at first before a possible extension allowing to produce up to 2 300 each year.
