Ministry of Defense: Russian air defense escorted reconnaissance aircraft more than 2 thousand times in 2022

This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The department clarified that out of 2 million air objects, 600 thousand were aircraft of foreign states.

It is also reported that the duty forces were put on high alert more than 4,000 times throughout 2022.

On December 12, a Russian MiG-31 escorted a Norwegian reconnaissance aircraft over the Barents Sea.
