Viktor Lundblad (M) received many calls from worried residents who found it very difficult to get the finances together.

- Many have a hard time getting it together because of inflation and other things, so I therefore wanted to see how the municipality could make it easier for the citizens, says Viktor Lundblad (M).

Everyone who needs it will get a reprieve

The grace period applies to childcare, nursing in special and ordinary accommodation, transport services and the environment.

According to Viktor Lundblad (M), everyone who calls the municipality and asks for a delay in these services will get it.

What does it mean concretely to get a deferment on childcare, for example?

- This means that the municipality will not send reminder fees, debt collection or the enforcement officer on those bills.

Precisely so that the residents will have a gap until the electricity refund comes.

Payment is deferred - not written off

But someone has to pay - what will it be like on May 1 when the moratorium no longer applies?

- Nothing is written off, the bill will still have to be paid but we do not add other charges.

According to Viktor Lundblad (M), it will only cost the municipality administrative fees.

The proposal is to be voted through next week, but according to Viktor Lundblad (M), there is political consensus.

The grace period applies from January 1 to April 30, 2023.

Staffanstorp municipality has previously introduced a similar moratorium.
