An investigation by the Border Police in the Israeli occupation army revealed the reason behind the "forgetfulness" of a female soldier in the Palestinian village of Al-Ram (south of Ramallah) during the implementation of an arrest operation by a force affiliated with it in the central West Bank.

And the Border Police announced the opening of an investigation last Tuesday in a video clip that Palestinians posted on social media, showing an Israeli soldier walking alone, carrying her weapon, in extreme anticipation and caution, in one of the streets of the village of Al-Ram.

The investigation - whose results were published by the police on Wednesday - concluded that the Israeli soldiers had indeed "forgot" the female soldier due to "poor coordination" between the force's members.

Quoting a statement by the Border Police, the official Broadcasting Authority said that the Israeli force, during an operation to secure Israeli civilian cars near the village of Al-Ram, was stoned by Palestinian youths.

The force decided to stop to arrest the young men, and managed to arrest two and put them in a vehicle belonging to them, while the female soldier took a third young man and put him in a second vehicle, and as soon as she closed her door, she moved and left her alone in the village, according to the statement.

For a distance of 60 meters - according to the statement - the Israeli force moved without the female soldier, who tried to contact her in vain, but in the end she was able to contact the commander of the force who was on board the vehicle she left and told him to come to evacuate her.

The Israeli forces carry out continuous raids on villages and cities in the West Bank, amid rising tensions.

During 2022, Israel arrested about 7,000 Palestinians in the West Bank, and its forces killed 171 others, according to a human rights report and the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
