Dog training collars sometimes get a bad rap, yet further research on the subject tends to prove that they have a real positive effect on the behavior of our canine friends.

With five possible training modes, light, sound, vibration, smell and shock, they are intended for regulated and sparing use to educate even the most recalcitrant characters.

The best dog trainings are those that begin at an early age, around two months old, when the puppy can be separated from its mother.

However, it happens that despite all the efforts of the master the dog begins to show signs of aggression, disobedience or bad behavior in public, both with humans and with other dogs.

The same goes for older dogs who haven't had the chance to be trained young enough, and for whom extra effort must be made.

In any case, dog training collars are made to teach your dogs the right behaviors to adopt in society.

From untimely barking to disobedience while walking through learning to return to heel,

To start this selection, here is the Havenfly dog training collar with two training modes: vibration or beep sound.

By themselves, these two functions are more than enough to teach your dog the right behavior to have in public.

The remote control captures the collar up to a distance of 500 meters to be able to train your dog to recall, while leaving him a wide freedom of movement, in the forest or in the countryside for example.

To train your dog, combine an audible command with a beep or vibration.

Your dog will quickly learn to associate the two and soon your voice alone will suffice since your dog will have learned to listen to you.

For more discreet commands, you can of course use the beep and vibration to make your dog obey, but be careful not to overdo it.

One of the biggest fears of owners who use a training collar for their dog is unintentionally triggering a "punishment", which would hurt the dog unnecessarily while making him suspicious for the future.

With this dog training collar from the Dog Care Shop, the collar features 99 adjustable static levels to tailor the response to the dog's behavior, with keypad lockout when not in use.

We remind you that such training must be done after consulting a professional, or better in the presence of a professional, and should only be used if your dog is really recalcitrant, if he shows signs of serious aggression, and if other training systems have failed.

In all cases,

in the long term, it is better to consult a professional for any questions about your dog's behavior so that he or she can assess the situation and offer you the appropriate training solution.

With this Dog Care collar, beep and vibration modes are also present.

They are very useful for any educational outing for your dog.

Here is a dog collar that has a somewhat special training mode, in addition to the usual beep and vibration modes.

The WWVVPET brand has indeed developed a collar that sprays citronella in the event of your dog's bad behavior to dissuade him from doing mischief.

This feature is especially useful if your dog is the type to nibble what he finds in his path.

If you see your dog exhibiting such behavior, start with a voice command, with or without a beep or vibration.

And if he still doesn't obey, the citronella will end up diverting him from his "stupidity".

We remember of course that the punishment should only occur after several reminders for maximum efficiency, so try to have a regulated use.

Also be careful not to trigger the citronella spray near another dog, who may not understand what is happening to him!

The battery of the collar has the advantage of being long-lasting, with an autonomy of approximately 10 days for a charge in only 3 hours.

The battery indicator lets you know when the collar is about to run out.

This necklace can only withstand light rain.

The Abbidot dog training collar, two collars for the price of one!

This offer from ABBIDOT combines two collars for a single remote control, very practical for users who have two dogs.

The collars and the remote control can go up to 180 days of autonomy, enough to last you entire walks without fear of seeing the battery let go in the middle of a training session.

Without obstacles, on the plain for example, the range of the device is up to approximately 900 meters.

In less favorable conditions, a range of about 200 meters is to be expected.

The remote control has a keypad lock to limit the risk of accidental shocks.

The collar has three modes, vibration first, then beep mode, and finally 16 static levels, the power of which is controlled by overload protection.

Note that the collar unlocks if the shock mode is maintained for more than 10 seconds in a row because training is never effective if the collar is used as a tool of punishment.

The specialists say it: for effective training, it is better to start with the vibration mode, then the beep mode, and finally the shock mode if absolutely necessary.

In any case, consulting the advice of a canine specialist is the best way to learn how to train your dog the right way.

100% water resistant, it is suitable for dogs that live near the sea or dog breeds that particularly like to bathe.

Vibration and static shock modes range on a scale of 1-99 to suit your dog's size and coat.

What sets these necklaces apart from others,

How old is a training collar?

In general, you don't put a training collar on a dog until it is 8 months old.

Before this age, the dog is really very young, and is not very open to intensive training.

Training collars are not collars to be worn continuously but training devices to reinforce the commands that the dog already knows, and that he will have started to learn from the age of two months, or to correct bad behavior that your dog learned on its own.

From 8 months the training collar can be used to perfect your dog's behavior, for example for a more effective recall or to calm aggressiveness and dominant behavior towards other dogs, or even towards humans.

How to train your dog with a training collar?

To educate your dog with a training collar, you have to practice training sessions of about 10 minutes during which you teach the dog to obey orders.

For example, you can associate the command "come back" with a beep, and your dog will learn to come back to you more easily since you will have his full attention.

The beep is the first step in dog training.

If it doesn't respond, the vibration should be enough to make your dog obey you.

Static shock should only be used if absolutely necessary, and should start with the lightest shock and work your way up to stop at the first shock to which the dog is receptive.

Training collars should be used temporarily, so your dog learns to obey you by voice alone, without getting used to the punishment.

Also be careful not to use the training collar excessively.

If the dog does not understand why he received a punishment, he will be suspicious afterwards.

Again and finally, it is best to call on a canine specialist for all your dog's behavioral problems, or to learn how to train him correctly.
