The US military said today, Wednesday, that the Alconico base in northeastern Syria was bombed with two missiles this morning, without causing casualties or damage to the base, which includes the international coalition forces to fight the Islamic State group led by Washington.

A statement by the Central Command of the US Army - published on its Twitter account - added that the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (an ally of the coalition forces) visited the site of the launch of the two missiles, and found a third missile that was not launched.

No party has claimed - until this hour - its responsibility for targeting the military base.

"Such attacks put Coalition Forces and the civilian population at risk, and threaten the hard-won stability and security of Syria and the region," said Central Command spokesman Col. Joe Bocchino.

It should be noted that the Coneco base is located in the building of the Coneco Natural Gas Plant, which was one of the most important gas facilities in Deir Ezzor Governorate.

The United States began establishing military bases and points in Syria since 2015, in order to support the "Syrian Democratic Forces" in confronting the "Islamic State" organization, which controlled a number of Syrian lands.
