The Dacia Sandero was the best-selling car to individuals in France in 2022, far ahead of the Peugeot 208 and the Renault Clio.

An unsurprising result, when we know that the Romanian subsidiary of Renault is primarily aimed at this market, reports

BFMTV

.

With 54,766 models sold, the Dacia Sandero finished at the top of the podium for sales to individuals, as in 2021. A success that is directly linked to the shortage of semiconductors.

"For lack of cars to deliver, manufacturers have favored the most profitable sales, that is to say those to individuals," explains NGC Data, which compiled these figures for

L'Argus

.

The #Peugeot 208, the most popular car in France in 2022, represented 36% of its sales.

Renault, favoring profitable sales, shows a deficit of 0.6 points over its rival (15.5%).

This strategy may explain the sudden drop in the Clio (-25%).
