The "Scientific Exploration Award" is a public welfare award led by scientists and funded by Tencent.
Adhering to the purpose of "facing the future, rewarding potential, and encouraging exploration", the "Scientific Exploration Award" encourages young scientists to explore the "no man's land" of science without distraction.
According to reports, the application period for this year's "Science Exploration Award" is from January 1 to March 15, 2023.
Young scientists who were born on or after January 1, 1977, obtained a doctorate, and worked full-time in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau (no nationality restrictions), can follow the relevant guidelines and go through the official website of the award (https://xplorerprize .org) to declare.
After the application is completed, the review committee will conduct independent review, and the list of winners will be announced in August 2023.
Beginning in 2023, expert nominations for the "Scientific Exploration Award" will be valid for three years each time.
The secretariat of the "Scientific Exploration Award" specially reminds that the deadline for applications this year is earlier than that of previous years, and young scientists who intend to apply must submit all materials on time.
The award application system has been fully upgraded, making the experience more convenient and friendly. Young scientists who have applied for awards in previous years can log in through the same account to reuse or modify the submitted materials.
It is worth mentioning that the "Scientific Exploration Award" and the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project" are both scientific and technological talent funding projects initiated and funded by Tencent, and there is a mutually exclusive relationship between the two when applying.
In the same year, eligible applicants can only apply for the "Scientific Exploration Award" or the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project", and cannot apply for both projects at the same time; the recipients of the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project" are not allowed to apply for the "Scientific Exploration Award".
It is reported that by the end of 2022, the "Science Exploration Award" has funded a total of 200 outstanding young scientists.
