In April, the parents brought their infant to Queen Silvia's children's hospital in Gothenburg when the son had breathing problems.

At first it turned out that there was nothing wrong with the child, but medical staff witnessed how the father shook the boy three times in an alarming manner and made an internal alarm report.

The mother also allegedly shook the child.

Just over a day later, the parents came back, then the boy was in a very bad condition.

He had suffered brain haemorrhages, fractures to both legs and retinal haemorrhages.

The police were called to the hospital and arrested the parents.

Risking future but

According to the newspaper, the boy risks future but in the form of brain and vision damage.

The parents are now sentenced against their denied for abusing the son.

The district court sentences the mother to a suspended sentence for assault and the father to probation for grievous bodily harm and minor drug offences.
