It seems that Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir is determined to foment an intifada named after him, and he will not rest until he drags the Israeli government, the army and all Israelis into a reckless adventure that will turn Israel into a pariah state.

This is what Zvi Barel, a writer for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, sees, warning that Ben Gvir will thus be responsible for bringing down the Palestinian Authority once and for all and putting Israel on an accelerating collision course with the Arab countries that have concluded peace agreements with it, not to mention the United States and Western countries in general.

Barrell said that the new police chief, Ben Gvir, is the same one who caused the May 2021 uprising, which affected the cities of the Green Line and resulted in a wave of violence in cities and towns where Arabs and Jews coexist, noting that the first spark for that uprising was protests organized by the right-wing Lahava group. Extremism at the Damascus Gate, accompanied by provocations in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and Ben Gvir himself is now wandering around the cities with the organization's activists.

The writer believes that what is happening now is more than just another test of the balance of power between the minister and his subordinates, and that Ben Gvir made Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a mere puppet.

adding that the new national security minister is the same minister who will decide Israel's foreign policy from now on;

He is also the one who will determine the army's order of priorities regarding the front that will intensify in the West Bank and Gaza.

He added that Netanyahu may be the front in his official visit to the UAE, and then the visit of his friend, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, but Ben Gvir is actually the one who dictates the agenda.

The writer concluded his analysis by saying that Netanyahu immediately began his new term as prime minister with fraud and deception, pretending that he had persuaded Ben Gvir to postpone his visit to the Temple Mount, stressing that Netanyahu with this behavior directly endangers the lives of Israeli and Palestinian civilians, police officers and soldiers, and Israel's security.
