BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) According to Yonhap News Agency's report on Jan. 4, the prices of major fast food varieties in South Korea are also rising sharply as prices continue to soar.

Eight kinds of Korean popular food, including kimbap, fried noodles, and pork belly, all increased in price last year.

  According to the 4th data of the price information platform "True Price" of the Korean Consumer Agency, based on the prices in Seoul in December 2022, the average prices of the eight most representative catering foods in Korea have increased compared with January 2022. The highest increase reached 13.8%.

  The data shows that the average unit price of jajang noodles rose the most, at 13.8%.

It rose from 5,769 won at the beginning of the year to 6,569 won in December.

It was followed by pork belly (per 200 grams), which rose 12% to 19,031 won, and kimbap, which rose 11.9% to 3,100 won.

In addition, the prices of ginseng chicken soup (11.2%), knife-cut noodles (9.8%), bibimbap (7.9%), cold noodles (7.8%), and kimchi soup (5.9%) also increased compared to the beginning of the year.

  According to Statistics Korea, the price of eating out will rise by 7.7% in 2022, hitting a new high in 30 years since 1992 (10.3%).

During the same period, the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 5.1% year-on-year, the highest level in 24 years after the 1998 financial crisis (7.5%).
