The Spanish National Audience, one of the highest courts in the country, has indicted three prominent political figures for “

terrorism

” and “

 torture

”.

They are Carmelo Ovono Obiang, one of the sons of leader Teodoro Obiang, in power since 1979 in Equatorial Guinea, and head of the foreign security service, Nicolas Obama Nichama, head of internal security, and Isaac Nguema Endo, Director General of Presidential Security.

This case begins in 2020, when two Spanish citizens of Guinean origin, Feliciano Efa Mangue, 44, and Julio Obama Mefuman, 51, are brought to South Sudan.

It would then be a maneuver by the Guinean security services, because as soon as they arrive at the airport, they are arrested and forced to take another plane to Equatorial Guinea, where they are taken to prison.

And, there, it is the object of their complaint, subjected to terrible tortures.

They claim that two other opponents of Obiang's regime are being tortured with them.

An investigation has since been carried out in the greatest discretion, and it is today that the Spanish judge Pedraz takes action by indicting three important men of the Guinean regime.

If he can do it, it is because the plaintiffs have Spanish nationality.

And also because two of the defendants have roots in Spain.

The first, Carmelo Ovono Obiang, alias Didi, one of the dictator's sons, lives in Marbella and has two apartments in Barcelona and Toledo.

The second Nicolas Obama Nchama, alias Nico, has a home in Villalbilla, near Madrid.

As for the third, Isaac Nguema Endo, suspected by the national audience of being the main torturer, he travels frequently between the two countries.

For his part, the vice-president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodorin Obiang, and all-powerful son of the head of state, accused Spain of "

interference

".

"

These terrorists were arrested by the Sudanese authorities (sic) and extradited to Equatorial Guinea

 " under an "

 international arrest warrant

" issued by Malabo, says the vice president.
