Last year, the government, in collaboration with Asian countries where energy consumption is increasing, came up with the "Asia Zero Emission Community Initiative," a framework for achieving both sustainable economic growth and decarbonization.



In response to this, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will invite major countries of the ASEAN = Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Australia to hold the first related ministerial meeting and public-private investment forum in Tokyo this March.



ASEAN countries are also required to respond to the problem of climate change.



For this reason, Japan will provide


financial support for the shift from coal-fired power to thermal power, which emits less carbon dioxide, and


▽ promote the spread of hydrogen and ammonia, which are considered next-generation energies. I would like to materialize the concept of working together on technology development.



Since the "G7 Hiroshima Summit" will be held in May this year, Japan will lead discussions in this field.
