Competition is good for business, especially in show business.

Now that Holiday on Ice is being challenged by Canadian entertainment giant Cirque du Soleil and their debut ice production, Crystal, the Dutch market leader is backing up with their most lavish and lavish show yet.

"A New Day" features even more effects, costume glamour, and choreographic feats than the previous shows.

And even these followed the motto: every year more spectacular, more exotic, more colourful.

With "A New Day", "Holiday on Ice" even dares to do a dramatic story that viewers can bang along to.

Adam, the nice boy next door, meets Aurora, a female being from another, a black and white galaxy, and shows her the colorfulness of the earth in many choreographically sophisticated pictures.

Forces of the past in the form of dancers in black and white costumes attempt to draw Aurora back to her old world.

In fact, they manage to separate the young couple.

But of course a fairy tale shouldn't end like this: Adam and Aurora finally find their happiness, which will be reignited over and over again throughout the tour, which takes "Holiday on Ice" from the Frankfurt Festhalle through other event halls in Germany.

Forget about reality for two hours

Every year, that's what the fans of "Holiday on Ice" have been saying for 80 years now.

The small hotel show that premiered in Toledo, Ohio, in the middle of the war in 1943 has become a glossy product that has been produced under Dutch direction since 1996.

The old concept of bringing stars of the art of ice dancing from the sports arenas to the entertainment arenas still works today.

This year, "Holiday on Ice" features the reigning French Olympic champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, who have created two short interludes especially for "A New Day": enchantingly beautiful performances that offer everything in terms of emotions and expressiveness that makes ice dancing attractive power.

Unfortunately, this exceptional couple can only be seen at the respective premiere performances in the individual tour cities.

With the North American duo Brynne McIsaac (Aurora) and Gabriel St. Jean (Adam) as well as the two Russian couples Alina Solovyeva / Alexey Rogonov and Angelina Avdaseva / Evgenii Kostarev, the experienced producer Peter O'Keeffe uses other outstanding soloists who are the most difficult Master jumps, turns and lifting acts and present them effortlessly.

They are accompanied by more than two dozen elegant ice dancers, for whom choreographer Nathan Clark has invented ingenious formations.

Creative director Francisco Negria, who is also in demand worldwide as an opera producer, has largely driven out the kitsch of earlier years with “Holiday on Ice”.

The use of lighting and video technology is state-of-the-art, the costume design appears extravagant and overflowing with ideas.

For two hours the viewers are spellbound and forget war, inflation and the other evils of the world.
