The family has fled Kharkiv and they are grateful to have found an apartment in the capital.

- I try to keep it together.

But it's nasty, especially when the drones flew here next to houses.

There were explosions, smoke and everything was on fire, says Oleh Marushchenko.

Risk of power failure

When the flight alarms go off, it is not easy to get down to the shelters.

With the constant risk of power cuts, the elevators are no longer an option.

When the power goes out, water and heat also disappear.

- When you live on the 18th floor, you can't run here and it's difficult.

That's why we get to stay in the apartment.

The elements stay warm for 30 – 40 minutes, then it gets colder and colder.

Then they get cold.
