A major accident occurred on the A11 motorway, near Angers (Maine-et-Loire), on Monday morning.

For a reason still undetermined, a vehicle would have suddenly slowed down.

A second car failed to avoid it and rammed it from behind.

This collision then caused a chain reaction.

A total of six vehicles were involved in the crash.

Alerted, about fifteen firefighters immediately went to the scene.

They took care of five people who were slightly injured.

The victims were evacuated to the University Hospital of Angers.

The gendarmes also went to the scene of the accident.

Traffic on the A11 was temporarily interrupted to allow emergency services to intervene.

Consequently, several kilometers of traffic jams have formed.

The situation returned to normal around 3 p.m.
