As RIA Novosti reported, earlier a video appeared on Telegram channels in which Meladze, while at a private party in Dubai, responded to a Ukrainian nationalist slogan.
In his social networks, Meladze explained that he “lives with a feeling of heaviness and grief”, because the peoples “beloved” by him are in conflict.
The musician added that he "cannot and does not want to hate anyone and does not try to please anyone."
Meladze also said that he dreams of establishing harmony between close peoples.
According to him, for this he is "ready to give all his strength."
Earlier, Senator Elena Afanasyeva proposed depriving Valery Meladze of Russian citizenship.
