The year 2022 ended with many questions, political, security and socio-economic.
At the heart of these, the question of the reform of the Constitution should continue to punctuate the debates, especially since the deputies have just adopted a law framing the referendum process in the country.

last September, and of reopening the way to a modification of the Constitution of March 30, 2016.

During his vows,
President Touadéra
took note of its adoption, as well as the “
grand demonstrations
” organized in recent months to “
call for a constitutional referendum
”.
He reaffirmed his "
will
" to "
respect the Constitution
", but also "
the will of the people holding national sovereignty
".

A reform of the fundamental law would have the consequence of authorizing him to run for a new mandate in 2025. For the moment, the National Elections Authority has not been seized of the referendum subject.
It is dedicated to the organization of local elections, now set for July 16.

Another challenge for the country is the socio-economic situation: "
inflation, fuel shortages and budgetary constraints form a dangerous cocktail

In terms of security, armed groups have carried out several attacks in recent weeks, but no major offensive.
During his vows, the Head of State wanted to be reassuring.
He promised to increase the defense budget, praised the "
change of posture
" of MINUSCA, as well as the "
bravery
" of the Russian
and
Rwandan
allies
.
