The alarm came at half past six on Tuesday morning.

It was stated that there was heavy smoke development in the garage on Brunnsgatan, with some risk of spreading.

Several stairwells are said to be filled with smoke and smoke diving was started.

According to TT, there are seven cars that burned in total.

The police's initial information was that there was a fire in two electric cars.

The police write on their website that the technical examination will show what kind of vehicle burned.

Not excluded if arson

An arson report will be drawn up.

- We cannot rule out that the fire was started at this point, said police spokesperson Hans-Jörgen Ostler earlier in the morning.

The police will carry out a technical investigation.

No evacuation

At half past nine in the morning, the rescue service announces that the fire is out and no one has had to be evacuated from their apartments.

- We haven't had to evacuate, rather contain, meaning that you don't run out into stairwells or the like, says Mats Gränsmark, alarm and command officer at the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service.

A total of 16 units from the rescue service must have been on site.

According to SVT's reporter on the spot, at 10:30 there are still several units left at the scene.

Several roadblocks have been set up at Brunnsgatan and a bit up Upper Husargatan.
