Egypt regrets that an Israeli official stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Arab Republic of Egypt has expressed its regret that an official of the new Israeli government stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque accompanied by extremist elements under the protection of Israeli forces, affirming its total rejection of any unilateral measures that violate the legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem.

And it warned - in a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - of the negative consequences of such measures on security and stability in the occupied territories and the region, and on the future of the peace process, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and responsibility and refrain from any measures that would inflame the situation.
