Charitable work in Dubai gains a continuous presence, deriving its features from the teachings of our true religion, the emirate’s originality, and the depth of its history. During the previous years, land and sea initiatives and projects were launched to protect birds and fish.

The manifestations of mercy spread in the emirate in various forms and images, targeting everyone who needs help, whether it is a human being, a bird, or even a cat.

Hence, most of the families residing in the emirate were keen to provide water for the birds, especially during the summer months.

The initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reveal a loving personality that surrounds everything around it with care, attention and attention.

Mercy was manifested in the heart of His Highness towards other creatures, since he was a child, when he left his food for his horses, out of pity for him.

His Highness, who is a knight, also described his relationship with his horse, indicating that it is as free as his hair:

It has intelligence, custom and acumen

Without words I understand and emulate it

And if I miss her, she turns on me

The smell of my clothes is enough

She is like my hair and like my thinking

                      Free.. and nothing equals it

You gave it to me over the course of my life

And the rest of the age I give it

And everyone watched how His Highness sponsored the cat "Marmoum", which appeared in his council after it was a homeless cat, to be the talk of the hour, and to spread its image through "Social Media", arousing wide interest.

And no one will forget the decision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to divert the path of a road, to avoid a nest that contains houbara chicks, so that the young bird will not be exposed to any kind of harm, and the road will be called later as the “Houbara Road”, influenced by the passion of the leader, father and teacher.

His Highness also sent a message of thanks to everyone who saves a living being, after the honorable position of an Arab resident, named Rola Al-Khatib, who contacted the Dubai Municipality, and informed her about a wounded bird on the seashore, to save his life.

Al-Khatib said later, via a tweet on her Twitter page, commenting on the municipality's haste to interact with her contact and work to save the bird's life: "If the animal has all that value, respect and attention, then you have to imagine what the human condition is like."

Many pictures and snapshots were launched from many projects aimed at protecting wild and marine life in the emirate, and showed great interest in settling Houbara birds in their natural reserves.

Among those photos, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared, in the summer of 2018, a video showing him holding a small bird in his hands.

This bird moved from the hands of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed to his head, then to the head of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, feeling reassured and familiar, and their highness did not seem disturbed by his movements, or tried to drive him away.

In another photo, taken in 2016, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum witnessed the first steps of a newly hatched houbara chick, in the Marmoum area in the Dubai desert.

Social media users also circulated a video of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, while feeding him a number of Houbara birds, expressing their admiration for His Highness's kindness and mercy.

His Highness commented on a video clip of a cat rescue operation, in a neighborhood of Dubai, which was circulated on social media pages: "The merciful, the Most Merciful, have mercy on them.. Proud and happy with every manifestation of mercy in our beautiful city.. Whoever knows them will guide us to them so that we can thank them."
