A 22-year-old young man was sentenced on Monday by the Grenoble Criminal Court (Isère) for possession and offer or sale of narcotics as a repeat offense.

He had been arrested a few days earlier in a building in the city known to be a lucrative deal point, reports

In his bag, the police had found 1,280 euros in small denominations as well as 1,129 g of cannabis resin, 130 g of herbal cannabis and 74 g of cocaine.

Goods estimated at more than 15,000 euros, said the public prosecutor of Grenoble Éric Vaillant during the hearing.

In court, the defendant assured that he was homeless and that he had arrived only a week earlier in Grenoble.

He explained that he was arrested on his first day as a seller.

Already known to justice, in particular for facts related to narcotics, the young man was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

He is forbidden to appear in Isère for three years.
