A man was stabbed to death on Sunday near Rouen (Seine-Maritime) and the alleged perpetrator was taken into police custody, we learned on Monday.

According to a first police source, the facts occurred in Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf against the backdrop of a neighborhood dispute.

The victim is 41 years old, she also said, without giving further details.

The alleged perpetrator, a 43-year-old individual, allegedly stabbed his neighbor twice late Sunday afternoon, another police source said.

He was arrested and placed in police custody for attempted homicide, according to this source, which specifies that the victim died shortly after.

The suspect was alcoholic at the time of his arrest.

The police station has taken over the investigation.

The victim's 10-year-old son was found in shock in the family apartment, says BFM Normandie.
