The Israeli occupation forces released Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Commission and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, after interrogating him for hours at Al-Mascobiyeh detention center in Jerusalem.

Sheikh Ikrima said that the interrogation with him in a security center in West Jerusalem lasted for 5 hours, and that the occupation forces interrogated him on suspicion of allegations that he supported acts of violence.

He added, "The charges brought against me during the investigation are that I support martyrdom operations and incite violence, but these charges are false."

Sheikh Sabri continued, "I visited some of the homes of the martyrs, so consider that I support these operations," and the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque indicated that his interrogators confronted him with videotapes of his presence in the homes of the perpetrators of the attacks.

The Israeli intelligence had raided the house of Sheikh Sabri in the town of Al-Sawana in East Jerusalem and summoned him for investigation.

The Israeli authorities had previously raided Sheikh Sabri's house and summoned him for interrogation more than once, and prevented him from entering Al-Aqsa for a specified period.
