The Christmas weekend was a gloomy and crime-heavy time with nine serious acts of violence in Stockholm in just over a week.

Now the Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) is commenting on recent events.

- Basically, the law enforcement authorities must make a powerful mobilization with the resources they already have - to break this gross and serious crime, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M).

"Takes time to turn around"

However, Strömmer states that it will take time to reverse this gloomy development.

According to him, the government has already taken steps in the right direction.

Among other things, the financial resources for the police have been increased and attempts have been made to break confidentiality barriers so that the police get the help they need from schools and social services to prevent and fight crime, he states.

- Then I think that everyone understands that this is a development that takes time to reverse.

But we will use the time as well as possible, says Strömmer.

"I don't rule it out at all"

When asked if he thinks the police are doing a good enough job, he replies that in any case the outcome is not good enough.

- When it comes to working methods, methodology and organization, I do not rule out at all that there may be a need to do other things, however, I cannot give information about that today, says the Minister of Justice.
