Anyone who owns a cat must ensure that it is ID marked and registered with the Swedish Agency for Agriculture, according to a new law.

It will soon be possible to do it online via the authority's new e-service.

The right for older people who have employment and want to continue working can now do so until the day they turn 69 (see more pension changes in the fact box).

More expensive alcohol and tobacco

The tax on alcohol is increased.

A bottle of wine will be 1.30 kroner more expensive, a large can of strong beer almost 50 öre more expensive and a quart of spirits a kroner more expensive.

The tax on tobacco is also being raised.

A tin of snus or a pack of cigarettes will be around a kroner more expensive.

At the same time, the television and radio fee is being reduced, as the fee income in the last two years has been higher than expected.

The fee will be a maximum of SEK 1,300 per person per year.

Some allowances and allowances that were raised temporarily during the pandemic will remain at the higher level in 2023 as well. This applies to unemployment insurance, activity support and the temporary additional allowance for families with children with housing allowance.

Students are affected

Those who have student loans will henceforth have to pay a small surcharge on the interest, to finance the state's credit losses and student loans.

They are compensated for the increased annual amounts through an option to extend the repayment period.

The university exam will be more expensive to take.

An amendment to the regulation means that the registration fee will be increased, from SEK 450 to SEK 550.

From this autumn, those who write the exam can also expect to be checked when entering or exiting the premises.

Primarily through a metal detector.

The aim is to avoid cheating.

Scrapped climate bonus

The climate bonus for new car purchases has been abolished, but is still available to anyone who bought or ordered one before November 8, 2022 (more in the facts box).

The old system of travel deductions for trips to and from work will remain, following proposals from the new government.

As of this year, it will also be a criminal offense for a practice driver not to bring an identity document.
