Yemen.. Houthi militias threaten to return to fight in 2023

A member of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, stressed the importance of continuing the battle against the terrorist Houthi militia during the new year 2023, indicating in a tweet on "Twitter", that the suffering of the Yemenis with the militias has not ended, despite the end of a year and the entry of another on them.

For his part, Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, said in his congratulations to the Yemenis on the new year, "The armed forces, security, and popular resistance will remain a supreme example of efforts to restore the state and end the coup."

He affirmed the commitment of the Council and the government to work to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni population during the new year, as well as the continuation of the payment of salaries and the improvement of the economic and living situation.

This coincides with the inauguration of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, the new training year, and the activation of the Oversight and Inspection Department in all areas and its combat units, in order to correct errors and imbalances and overcome the negatives of the past stage, in preparation for the stage of restoring the state from the Houthi militia.

The Houthi militia, in the words of the head of the so-called Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, declared his group's readiness for war, and confirmed its continued escalation on the battle fronts by supporting it with fighters and weapons during the new year.

In this context, the militias continued to launch booby-trapped marches on civilian areas and army and resistance sites on separate fronts during the past few hours, as a Houthi booby-trapped march was dropped in the sky of the liberated Hareeb district, south of Ma'rib.

The air defenses of the joint forces were also able to shoot down a booby-trapped march launched by the militias towards the liberated areas in the Hays district, south of Hodeidah.

In Saada, the militias escalated their attacks towards army positions on the fronts of Shada and Munabbih districts for the second day in a row, as the Houthis' fire sources were responded to and 18 were killed or wounded.

Meanwhile, the militias continued the funerals of their fallen fighters on the front lines during the international armistice period, as 10 prominent leaders in their ranks, including 2 holding the rank of brigadier general, were buried.

In terms of rights, the Houthi militias ushered in the new year by issuing death sentences against 6 abductees from Al Mahwit Governorate, while the Association of Yemeni Abductees' Mothers called on the international community to reject the Houthis' inclinations to convert the prisoners' file from a human rights file into a political file, and demanded their speedy release.
