The Ukrainian army announced that Russian attacks with dozens of Iranian drones targeted several provinces in the country, and while Ukrainian intelligence revealed information about Russia's military force, the latter said that it had thwarted Ukraine's plan to attack its territory.

Violent explosions rocked the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and other places across the country in the first hours of the new year, while the Ukrainian army said that its defenses shot down 45 drones, of which 30 targeted the capital, Kyiv.

The Ukrainian presidential advisor commented on the Russian bombing, saying, "Moscow no longer has any military goals, but is trying to kill as many civilians as possible and destroy cities."

For its part, the Ukrainian Military Administration in Kherson Province said that Russian forces bombed the territory of the province, which is located in southern Ukraine, about 40 times during the past hours.

It indicated that the Russian bombing resulted in the death of a civilian, wounding others, and material damage to a children's hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, the head of the Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said that Russia still has sufficient missile reserves to launch two or three large-scale attacks in the future on all of Ukraine.

He added that Russia can produce up to 50 "Caliber" missiles per month, and that any major Russian attack would require about a month and a half to produce new missiles.

And the Ukrainian intelligence confirmed that next March will be difficult for Russia in terms of lack of equipment and ammunition, and that Russia is preparing during January to close the borders to its citizens under the age of 55.

On the other hand, the Russian forces said that they bombed the base of the elite regiment of the Ukrainian Special Forces in the west of the country.

And the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that its long-range, accurate missiles targeted yesterday, Saturday, Ukrainian military factories used to produce offensive drones, and said that it had thwarted Kyiv’s plan to launch attacks against its territory.

And Russian military sites broadcast pictures that it said were of a missile strike targeting the Ukrainian Special Forces base in Khmelnitsky district, western Ukraine.

According to Russian military sources, the eighth regiment that was targeted in Khmelnytskyi is the best among the Ukrainian special forces.


Ruble instead of hryvnia

In the economic consequences of the war, as of today, Sunday, the circulation of the Ukrainian national currency, the hryvnia, will end in the regions that Russia recently annexed, and the Russian ruble will become the only monetary currency in these regions.

This decision will include the Russian-controlled regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the Zaporizhia and Kherson provinces.
