A 30-year-old man was taken into police custody after the death of his uncle following a "family conflict" during the night of New Year's Eve, in Noisy-le-Sec (Seine-Saint-Denis), learned Sunday AFP from a police source and the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

Suspected of being the cause of the death of his 55-year-old uncle who was hosting him, the 30-year-old man was arrested early in the morning on Sunday, a police source said.

An autopsy on Monday

During the arrest, "he said he had done something serious", according to a source familiar with the matter.

According to the police source, the conflict began after the 50-year-old told his nephew that he had to find other accommodation.

The autopsy scheduled for Monday will clarify the causes of death, for the time being unknown, said the prosecution.

The investigation opened for intentional homicide was entrusted to the judicial police of the department.
