More than 50 years after forcibly occupying Gaza and the West Bank, Israel is bringing to the fore fanatics and religious fanatics whose primary goal is to expand settlements to perpetuate Jewish hegemony, which carries a political and diplomatic price.

For half a century, this exceptional system continued to develop, and the Israeli authorities continued to encourage the settlement of Israelis of the Jewish religion within these occupied lands, in violation of international law.

This is what the French newspaper Le Monde commented on the formation of the new Israeli government, which it described as the most radical that this country has known, highlighting that what happened culminates in an unprecedented development in this country.

In its editorial, the French newspaper pointed out that recent months have witnessed frantic Israeli denunciations of the use by human rights organizations of the term apartheid to describe the system to which the Palestinians are subject, noting that the battle is not only linguistic, given its potential legal repercussions for the International Criminal Court, which is investigating the crimes committed. in these areas.

While Palestinians are confined to enclaves subject to the "good intentions of the occupier," Le Monde notes, Israelis of Jewish faith enjoy their own legal framework that guarantees continuity between Israel, the state recognized by the international community, and these occupied territories.

The fact that Israel's allies have surrendered to it and that some Arab countries have normalized their relations with it without bating an eyelid will not change, according to Le Monde, the brutal reality that arose from this system of separation and which is embodied, among other things, in the confiscation of land and the denial of freedom of movement and use. Disproportionate violence with complete impunity, Israel's withdrawal from Gaza has never prevented it from exerting harsh pressure on its population, as is evident from the inhumane blockade imposed on this devastated strip.

Le Monde concluded its editorial by stressing that the continuation of this hegemony over the entire regional space extending from the Mediterranean Sea to the border with Jordan entails a political and diplomatic price, as it made Israel's democratic character deceptive, and therefore the Western allies of Tel Aviv will find it difficult to hide behind what they are promoting. He has common values with Israel to hide their denial of the Palestinian cause, and these allies should not be surprised by the indifference of one part of the world when they call elsewhere for respect for the rights of peoples, according to the newspaper.
