Three national students from Al Rafa School for Basic and Secondary Education in Umm Al Quwain designed a magnetic transmission for mechanical movement in machines, which works without friction, thus reducing energy loss in the form of heat, producing clean energy, and reducing the cost of electrical energy for factories.
The project supervisor, Ikrami Mustafa, told Emirates Today that the students, Badi Muhammad Badi, Saif Matar Laghwais, and Muhammad Mana Laghwais, implemented the project within three months, and participated in it in the National Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation, organized by the Ministry of Education, in « Expo 2020 Dubai.
He explained the method of completing the project, which relied on the hypothesis that if the magnetic properties were used to transmit the movement resulting from the motor or the dynamo, it is expected to save part of the wasted energy, and clean energy could be produced, as a result of the movement of the motor in front of the magnetic dynamo, in addition to applying the idea of the magnetic dynamo. In machines used in the air, space and underwater, reducing pollution and energy costs.
Mustafa stated that the research and experiment conducted by the project team reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the efficiency of the magnetic transmission is 22% better than the mechanical transmission.
• Students implemented the project within 3 months, and participated in the National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival.
