North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea on New Year's Day today (June 1), the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.



The military is analyzing detailed specifications such as the missile launch location and flight distance.



North Korea also fired three short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) into the East Sea from the area of ​​Junghwa County in North Hwanghae Province yesterday.



Earlier, at a meeting at the end of last year, Chairman Kim Jong-un emphasized the need to "establish a more vigorous and confident strategy for struggle" and specified the direction of the "antagonistic struggle" targeting the South, foreshadowing an offensive policy toward South Korea.



At the end of last year, North Korea flew five unmanned aerial vehicles south of the Military Demarcation Line, and one of them flew into the skies over Seoul.
