  China News Agency, Beijing, December 30th (Reporter Zhang Su) "It is urgent to crack down on and punish the use of information networks to carry out 'naked chat' extortion crimes in accordance with the law", China's Supreme People's Procuratorate stated this when it released the case on the 30th.

  The Supreme People's Procuratorate released four typical cases of procuratorial agencies punishing cyber crimes in accordance with the law, focusing on online naked chat extortion, online "soft violence" collection and other criminal fields.

These include the "Hong Moudu and others extortion case".

  The case shows that starting from November 2019, Li Mousi, Zeng Mouyun (both at large) and others successively lured, recruited and organized defendants Hong Moudu and Cao Mouzhou to smuggle into Myanmar in order to obtain huge illegal profits. In the Bangkang area, naked video chats are used exclusively, and coercion is used as the main method to extort property from victims, gradually forming a criminal group that uses information networks to carry out criminal activities.

  The criminal group tricked the victim into downloading a Trojan horse program to obtain the victim's mobile phone address book and SMS information, played a pre-prepared video clip with nude women's content to pretend to be a real nude chat scene, intercepted and recorded the victim's nude video in the process, and then used Sending nude videos of the victim to his relatives, friends, unit leaders, etc. to threaten, and extorting citizens in China through the Internet.

  As of November 2020, the criminal group has extorted as much as RMB 120 million from victims across China.

From December 2020 to November 2022, the Chinese prosecutors prosecuted a total of 405 people including Hong Moudu and Zhang Mouqiang in batches to the court for the crime of extortion and organizing illegal crossing of the border, and determined that the crime of cross-border naked chatting The group is a criminal group of evil forces.

As of November this year, the court has sentenced 394 defendants to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 12 years to seven months and fined them.

  The Supreme People's Procuratorate reminded that the use of information networks to carry out "naked chats" is extremely tempting and covert, and both parties to "naked chats" may even be involved in illegal crimes such as disseminating obscene materials and obscene performances.

In addition, criminals seize the victim’s mentality of being ashamed to report to the police because of being blackmailed by naked chatting, seek illegal economic benefits, and implement it against unspecified people nationwide, with a wide range of influence. Therefore, the use of information networks to carry out "naked chat" blackmail Crime is imminent.

  Chinese officials are launching a nationwide special campaign to crack down on cybercrime.
