• 2:56 a.m .: air alert in kyiv, residents called to take refuge in shelters

The warning sirens sounded early Friday morning in kyiv and the inhabitants were called to take refuge in the shelters, the day after massive attacks carried out by the Russian army against the Ukrainian capital.

The Kyiv Municipality issued an alert via Telegram messaging shortly after 2 a.m., calling on residents of the capital to take shelter in shelters.

The governor of the Kyiv region, Oleskiy Kuleba, said on Telegram that a "drone attack" was underway.

A witness 20 kilometers south of kyiv heard several explosions and the sound of gunfire from air defense systems.

The US president on Thursday signed into law a budget bill for federal services totaling $1.7 trillion.

This law provides 45 billion dollars of economic and military support to Ukraine, in order to fight against the Russian invasion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went to Washington in December to ask for more aid.
