According to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, in 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized and carried out two routine monitoring work on the quality and safety of national agricultural products, sampling vegetables, fruits, tea, livestock and poultry products, aquatic products, etc. 5 There were 14,437 samples of 106 varieties, 130 parameters, and 14,437 samples of major categories of products. The overall pass rate was 97.6%. The quality and safety of agricultural products across the country remained stable. 

  According to reports, this year's routine monitoring has sampled and inspected 1,478 vegetable and fruit tea production bases, 976 vegetable and fruit transport vehicles, 518 slaughterhouses, 315 breeding farms, 1,231 aquatic product transport vehicles and Temporary breeding ponds, 1191 wholesale (farmers) markets for agricultural products.

The results showed that the qualified rates of vegetables, fruits, tea, livestock and poultry products, and aquatic products were 97.1%, 98.8%, 98%, 99.1%, and 95.8%, respectively. 

  From the perspective of monitoring varieties, among the vegetables sampled, the qualified rates of aquatic vegetables, melon vegetables, edible fungi, cabbage vegetables and solanaceous vegetables were 100%, 99.4%, 99%, 98.8% and 97.8% respectively.

Among the livestock and poultry products that were sampled, pig livers were all qualified, and the pass rates of pork, beef, mutton, poultry meat and poultry eggs were 99.7%, 98.2%, 99.4%, 98.7%, and 98.1%, respectively.

Among the large-scale aquaculture aquatic products sampled and inspected, the qualified rates of prawns, silver carp, bighead carp and mandarin fish were 100%, 99.4%, 98.9% and 98.7% respectively. 

  The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has notified the monitoring results to all localities in a timely manner, requiring local agricultural and rural departments to take targeted measures to control risks.

Taking key varieties as a breakthrough, organize and carry out tackling of outstanding drug residues in agricultural products, adhere to equal emphasis on production and management, combine dredging and blockage, strengthen supervision and inspection of production processes, change prevention and control methods of diseases and insect pests, and promote the establishment of a working mechanism for drug reduction and residue control.

At the same time, extensively carry out publicity and implementation of the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Law, make good use of the edible agricultural product commitment and compliance certificate system, strengthen the daily supervision of the quality and safety of agricultural products in townships and villages, implement dynamic publicity of risk levels on the wall, and promote agricultural safety credit pilots.
