A man was arrested by the gendarmes this Wednesday in Andard, delegated commune of Loire-Authion, near Angers (Maine-et-Loire).
He is suspected of having fired gunshots from his home at cars passing near his property.
However, it would not have specifically targeted specific people or vehicles, says Ouest-France.
No injuries are reported.
Arrested in the evening, the individual was taken into custody.
The gendarmes of the department made it known that a judicial investigation had been opened.
The gendarmes arrived near the suspect's accommodation just minutes after being alerted that gunshots had been heard.
Many intervention vehicles then parked in the parking lot of a supermarket, not affected by the operation of the soldiers, who quickly went to a less urbanized area located nearby, where the shots seemed to come from.
