Tegnhammar resigned in August last year after being accused of "inappropriate behaviour".

He had then been an opposition councilor in Malmö for seven years and also sat on the Moderate party board.

Tegnhammar has previously also worked as political secretary for the Moderates in the region.

- We have people in the party who know him, so we have discussed this issue and concluded that it is something we want to try given his political experience, says Niclas Nilsson, regional councilor for the Sweden Democrats in Skåne, to the newspaper.
