It is six years of Donald Trump's tax returns that have now become public after several years of dispute, where the former president of the United States tried to keep them secret, a committee in the House of Representatives has released his returns - just before the house is taken over by a Republican majority on January 3.

The declarations apply to the years 2015 to 2020 and are released with some information, such as Trump's bank account number, kept secret, AP reports.

As long as Trump was president, the Justice Department failed to request the documents, but last year the new administration ordered the IRS to hand over the records.

Turned to court

Trump went to court to try to keep the declarations secret but lost in several instances.

In November, the Supreme Court ruled that the Treasury Department should release them.

The congressional committee then received tax returns for Trump and some of his companies for the years 2015-2020.

Trump came under fire for a series of deals during his years as a New York developer and was the first president in 40 years not to release his tax returns.
