- The advantage of this is that the noise levels will go down in the port and the emissions will be significantly less.

It's good both for us who work in the port and for the residents who live in town, says Nicklas Romell, sales and marketing director at the port of Helsingborg.

By autumn 2023, two trucks will be able to be charged at the same time at the stations, which will be at the entrance to the port area with each 350 kW charging power.

Kommunala Öresundskraft is responsible for the installation and operation of the charging stations, and for this they have received an economic contribution from the Energy Agency.

Höganäs AB is testing driving with electric trucks

Höganäs AB, which is one of Sweden's largest emitters, is testing in a four-year project to run the route from Höganäs to Helsingborg with both regular trucks and electric trucks.

- The charging infrastructure that the port of Helsingborg works with is an important part of making this work, says Johan Walther, logistics manager at Höganäs AB.

The electric truck can drive with 74 tonnes of cargo and by driving it, Höganäs AB will emit 130 tonnes less carbon dioxide emissions per year.

- It is very quiet and it feels really cool, it almost moves like a train sometimes, says Tim Bengtsson, who is a truck driver.
